Tucked into a shopping center on East Briarwood Avenue is It's Coffee, a locally owned Centennial café where coffee is less about grabbing something on the run and more about continuing a family ritual that has traveled through generations.
The family behind It’s Coffee says coffee making has been part of their lives for generations. Morning coffee was something they regularly shared together, and in 2020, they decided to take that tradition beyond their own table and open a café. Their goal was wonderfully uncomplicated: find the beans, roast and grind they loved, then invite the community into the experience.
Today, the coffee served here is described by the café as fresh, organic and fair-trade, with coffee roasted locally right here in Centennial.
But Have You Tried Turkish Coffee?
Here is where a visit gets especially interesting.
Alongside familiar drip coffee, pour-overs and lattes, the menu features Turkish Coffee and Spiced Turkish Coffee, as well as Turkish and Spiced Turkish Lattes.
Traditional Turkish coffee is a very different experience from the oversized mug many of us associate with American coffee culture. It is typically prepared finely ground, strong and unfiltered, creating a small but intensely flavorful cup meant to be enjoyed rather than gulped between errands.
For someone who has never tried it, this may be the perfect place to venture beyond the usual order.
And if Turkish coffee feels like too large a leap before breakfast, there is plenty of familiar territory. Current offerings include sweet cream cold brew, pour-over coffee, espresso drinks and flavored beverages, while the food side includes choices such as almond, Nutella and rose croissants, breakfast burritos, green chile sausage frittata, chicken pesto sandwiches and other pastries.
Vegan breakfast-burrito options are also listed on the menu.
There is even a connection with longtime Denver-area Vollmer’s Bakery, whose cheesecakes and tortes are available through the café, adding another local-food thread to the story.
A Centennial Coffee Stop Worth Slowing Down For
Perhaps the best reason to feature It’s Coffee is that it represents something we love finding for Centennial Pulse: a local business that could easily disappear into the scenery if you did not know to look for it.
You will find the café at 10639 E. Briarwood Avenue, Unit C1, Centennial. Current posted hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m.–3 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m., and closed Sunday.
See the café, menu and current information at It's Coffee Cafe.
So sometime this week, trade the automatic coffee run for a little exploration. Order something you have never tried, add a pastry, find a seat and remember that sometimes supporting local can begin with something as simple as one very good cup of coffee.
And when you stop in, be sure to tell the family at It’s Coffee that Centennial Pulse sent you! ☕

Glad to see them supporting other local businesses too, Vollmer’s cheesecake is legit.
Absolutely, partnering with Vollmer’s is a delicious way to keep the local love going, and those cheesecakes are crowd-pleasers!
If you’re into strong coffee, the Turkish coffee here is no joke. Small but mighty!
Anyone know if they have dairy-free milk? My kid has allergies but loves to tag along to cafes.
Would love later hours for after-work visits, but gotta respect the family vibe.
It’s places like this that make Centennial feel like a real community, not just a suburb.
Stopped in after seeing this posted. Got a spiced Turkish latte and almond croissant, delicious!
Not sure Turkish coffee is my thing, prefer something less strong. But going to try the pour-over next time.
Great choice, pour-over is a bit milder and just as fresh. We hope you find a new favorite on your next visit.
Parking can be a little tricky at this shopping center but it’s worth it for the coffee and pastries.
It can fill up, especially during mornings, but we agree, the coffee and pastries are well worth circling for a spot.
Local and fair-trade? More businesses should do this. I’ll skip Starbucks next time.
Is there space to work on a laptop? Looking for a cozy place to study sometimes.
Yes, there’s cozy seating available, and many guests stop by with laptops to work or study, It’s Coffee aims for a welcoming, unhurried atmosphere.
Such friendly staff here! Tried the rose croissant last week. It’s a must.
Thank you for sharing! The rose croissant is a special treat, and we're so glad to hear you enjoyed both the pastry and the welcoming team.
Been a regular since they opened. Turkish coffee is my order every time. Takes me back to my grandma’s kitchen.
What a wonderful connection to your own family memories, Turkish coffee has a way of transporting us!
I’m vegan so those breakfast burrito options make me happy. Always a plus!
That family story really hits home. My dad always made coffee in the mornings too.
We love hearing the family stories that coffee inspires, thank you for sharing your own tradition with us.
Do they have good decaf options? Love local coffeehouses but can’t do caffeine after noon.
Honestly, didn’t even realize we had a local roaster nearby. Gotta give it a shot soon.
Thanks for spotlighting places like this! The green chile sausage frittata sounds amazing.
Big fan of Vollmer’s cheesecakes, so I love that they offer them here. Dessert with coffee is always a win.
Those hours are rough for us weekend folks! Wish they opened on Sundays too. Still, I’ll try to stop by Saturday.
This warms my heart. Family traditions are so important and now the whole neighborhood can enjoy theirs.
Rita C.I agree, Rita! Places like this make the neighborhood feel more like home. Can’t wait to stop by and support them.
Never tried Turkish coffee before, but now I’m super curious. Is it like espresso?
Almond croissant and a sweet cream cold brew sound like a dream breakfast combo. Who’s been? Is there parking?
That sounds like an excellent combo! There is parking in the shopping center lot, though it can get busy at peak times.
Love seeing family businesses pop up in Centennial. Do they have outdoor seating?
Turkish coffee is SO strong, but in a good way. Happy to see a Centennial spot offering something different from all the chains.
I’ve passed that shopping center a hundred times and never noticed this place! Definitely want to try the spiced Turkish latte next time I’m nearby.
