Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and covered in a great sauce—few foods satisfy quite like a plate of freshly prepared chicken wings.

Whether you prefer the familiar bite of Buffalo sauce, the smoky sweetness of barbecue or something more adventurous, Centennial offers plenty of excellent options. Here are five local restaurants worth visiting the next time a wing craving strikes.

1. Toley’s on the Creek

Toley’s on the Creek takes our top spot with its winning combination of crispy wings, generous portions and plenty of flavor choices.

The bone-in wings are sold by the pound and served with carrots, celery and your choice of ranch or house-made blue cheese dressing. Wet sauces include Buffalo, Honey Sriracha, barbecue, Teriyaki and Daytona. Diners who prefer a dry finish can choose Cajun, Lemon Pepper or Garlic Parmesan.

The relaxed neighborhood atmosphere, cold drinks and complete pub menu make Toley’s a great place to gather with friends or watch a game.

Our pick: Daytona wings
Find it: 16728 E. Smoky Hill Road, Suite 11C

2. 2 Penguins Tap & Grill

If wings and craft beer sound like the perfect pairing, head to 2 Penguins Tap & Grill.

This locally owned Centennial taproom serves fresh wings with a choice of traditional Buffalo, Whiskey BBQ or Asian Soy sauce. The rotating beer selection gives you plenty of options for finding the right brew to complement your order.

With its spacious dining room, outdoor patio and friendly neighborhood feel, 2 Penguins is equally well suited for a casual lunch, group gathering or evening out.

Our pick: Whiskey BBQ wings
Find it: 13065 E. Briarwood Avenue

3. GQue BBQ

Located near Park Meadows, GQue BBQ is well worth the short drive from Centennial—especially if you prefer smoked wings over the traditional deep-fried variety.  GQue’s wings are hickory-smoked and then flash-fried, producing a crispy exterior while keeping the meat tender and juicy. The restaurant offers rotating wing flavors alongside its signature barbecue sauces, giving diners a flavorful alternative to standard Buffalo wings.

Pair an order with GQue’s seasoned fries, macaroni and cheese or another classic barbecue side for a satisfying meal.

Our pick: Hickory-smoked wings
Find it: 8433 Park Meadows Center Drive, Suite 143B, Lone Tree

4. Papa’s Public House

Papa’s Public House is a welcome addition to Centennial’s wing scene, serving its signature “Legacy Wings” with house-made ranch or blue cheese dressing.  The sauce lineup offers something for every heat level. Milder choices include Carolina Gold and Garlic Parmesan, while Buffalo, Jamaican Jerk and Spicy Teriyaki occupy the middle ground. Diners ready to turn up the heat can choose Nashville Hot, Mango Habanero or FuRay.

Orders range from six wings to shareable 36-piece portions, making Papa’s a good destination for everything from a quick lunch to a game-day gathering.

Our pick: Jamaican Jerk wings
Find it: 8200 S. Quebec Street

5. Buffalo Wild Wings

Sometimes you simply want a huge selection of sauces, plenty of televisions and a familiar game-day atmosphere. That is where Buffalo Wild Wings continues to deliver.  Guests can choose from traditional or boneless wings and an extensive range of sauces and dry seasonings. Mild diners can stay with Parmesan Garlic or Honey BBQ, while serious heat seekers can work their way toward Mango Habanero, Wild or Blazin’.

It may be a national chain, but the Centennial location remains a convenient destination for sports fans, groups and large takeout orders.

Our pick: Mango Habanero wings
Find it: 8255 S. Chester Street, Suite 200

Pick Your Flavor and Dig In

Centennial’s wing scene offers something for practically every appetite. The only difficult part is deciding between Buffalo, barbecue, garlic Parmesan—or ordering enough to try them all.

Honestly I still prefer traditional Buffalo sauce no matter the place. I’m basic like that. Anyone else loyal to classic Buffalo, or should I try getting out of my comfort zone?

Classic Buffalo never goes out of style, but with so many great sauces around town, it could be fun to try just one new flavor on your next order, maybe you’ll find a new favorite!

Love seeing local spots get a shout out! I’ve had Papa’s Legacy Wings, highly recommend the Jamaican Jerk flavor if you like medium heat. Order a side salad, their ranch is actually homemade!

We’re so glad you enjoyed Papa’s Legacy Wings, the Jamaican Jerk is a standout, and you’re right, the house-made ranch enhances everything on the menu, salads included!

Park Meadows drive is a bit of a trek, but GQue is worth it, smoked wings hit different. Pro tip: call ahead on weekends, it gets packed.

Just reading about Mango Habanero wings made my mouth water and my eyes water at the same time. Are they really THAT hot at Buffalo Wild Wings? I like a little kick but not full-on pain, haha.

Surprised you didn’t mention Wing Hut! That’s been my family’s favorite for years. Is it just not as well known or did you just run out of room? Their honey chipotle is awesome.

Wing Hut is definitely a favorite for many locals, the honey chipotle is fantastic! We focused on a small selection for this list, but always welcome more recommendations for next time.

I wish more places did dry rubs like Toley’s. Garlic Parm and Cajun are my favorites but nobody in my family likes dry wings except me! Might have to do a solo dinner soon.

Dry rubs deserve more love, and Toley’s definitely delivers with their Garlic Parm and Cajun options, sometimes a solo wing night is the perfect way to treat yourself.

2 Penguins, y’all! Underrated for wings, but their beers make it even better. I recommend the whiskey BBQ wings with a nice IPA on their patio. Anyone else think their fries are criminally overlooked?

Great point, the fries at 2 Penguins often fly under the radar, but they’re a perfect complement to those Whiskey BBQ wings and a cold IPA, especially on the patio! Thanks for the delicious tip.

Thanks for this roundup! I always default to Buffalo Wild Wings since they have so many sauces but these local spots look amazing. Definitely heading to Papa’s Public House next time my friends want to meet up. Curious if they have good veggie sides too?

Thanks for reading! Papa’s Public House does offer a few veggie sides, try their side salad with house-made ranch or celery and carrot sticks with your wings for a fresh balance.

GQue BBQ is my go-to for wings. Those smoked wings are next level, different from the usual fried ones. For real, the mac and cheese as a side? So good. Try dipping the smoked wings in their spicy bbq, you won’t regret it.

Totally agree, GQue’s smoked wings are in a league of their own, and pairing them with their mac and cheese or giving them a dip in the spicy BBQ sauce is a true pro move.

DanTheMan77Totally agree, GQue’s wings hit different with that smoke flavor. Never tried dipping them in the spicy BBQ, but now I have to next time. The mac and cheese is legit too, my kids always ask for extra!

I had no idea there were so many wing spots in Centennial! Toley’s on the Creek is right by my gym and now I’m pretty sure I know what I’m getting after my next workout. Anyone tried their Daytona wings? Spicy or just flavorful?

Toley’s Daytona wings strike a tasty balance, zesty and flavorful with a little kick, but not overwhelmingly spicy, let us know what you think after your post-gym treat!
